Indiana Avenue Church of Christ
How it all started...
In 1923 the 4th and Lincoln Church of Christ, now the North Central Church of Christ, planted a new Church near the Indiana University campus known as the Indiana Avenue Church. During the 1960s Indiana Avenue started the Highland Village Church of Christ on the west side of Bloomington. In 2009 IU purchased the Indiana Avenue property and the church moved to the south side of Bloomington and became the Southern Hills Church of Christ.
We believe that God wants us to follow Him and to be salt and light to our community. We are a part of the Restoration Movement and are trying to do our best to be Jesus to the world. God has called us to Worship Him and to live in Holiness before Him that we might grow and mature in our faith and in His Spirit. We believe we are called to live in community with one another, through the church, to serve and work together. We are also called to make a difference, to witness for Jesus Christ and influence the world around us.
We invite you to be a part of our story.
